Textured engineered oak floors
Textured Oak Flooring Finishes
Textured oak flooring brings depth, warmth, and natural character to any interior. At Waxed Floors, every board is finished using traditional craftsmanship and natural oils, allowing texture to enhance the grain and stand the test of time. Our penetrating oil finish won’t crack or peel, meaning your chosen texture remains durable and beautifully tactile.
Textured finishes are often used to create an aged, lived-in quality, highlighting the oak’s natural charm. With decades of experience in bespoke engineered oak floors, we specialise in authentic aged textures that elevate modern and period properties alike.
Distressing
Distressing introduces subtle dents, surface marks, and lightly worn edges to give oak an elegant, time-worn feel. This finish is particularly effective on square-edged engineered boards, delivering a refined, heritage look.

Wire Brushing
Wire brushing removes the softer grain to reveal a gently textured, natural surface. It enhances grain detail, improves tactile feel, and helps mask day-to-day marks—ideal for darker oak tones and engineered walnut flooring.

Planing
Our signature planed finish opens the wood’s pores to absorb natural oils deeply, resulting in rich, earthy tones and exceptional durability. The subtle planer marks create a softly aged appearance, with more pronounced finishes available for rustic character and depth.

Scraping & Sawing (Reclaimed Look)
For a bold, reclaimed aesthetic, scraping and random saw lines add raw texture and genuine old-world charm. Hand-cut bevels further accentuate the natural edges for a reclaimed feel.

Partial Sawing (Hit & Miss)
This finish introduces intermittent saw marks across the surface, adding subtle industrial character while retaining a refined and naturally oiled appearance.
Band-Sawing (Treehouse)
Our Treehouse finish features continuous saw lines to create a calm, harmonious textured surface. Despite its rustic inspiration, the result is contemporary and sophisticated, suitable for homes and commercial spaces. Available with or without hand-cut bevels.

Bevel Options
Most textured oak boards are offered with micro bevel, square edge, or hand-cut bevel finishes, allowing you to tailor the look to your space.
